The ABOA is integral to the American Cancer Society's efforts to fund cancer research, increase cancer prevention and early detection, provide patient, caregiver, and survivor support, and prioritize cancer in our governments. The ABOA advances the fight against cancer by:
Promoting the American Cancer Society
Supporting local initiatives
Engaging new partnerships
Advocating for policy
The ABOA supports existing events in Richmond - including Relay For Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Real Men Wear Pink, Denim Days, the Cattle Baron's Ball, and the Richmond Golf Classic - and events and activities tailored to the interests of young professionals.
For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
